About 'Water'

"The obvious message through the lyrics and so on is around valuing this resource of water and taking note of every drop, and really appreciate the gift that it brings.  That message is very clear.  It brings feelings of joy.”  - Rob Clark

The Essence of 'Water' - Being One with Yourself, & Water

The Water Album is designed to take you through different experiences with water. From being the creek’s water to enjoying dancing in the rain, and appreciating the essence of water in all its forms.

The lyrics are written in English and words that I made up on the spot - often called light language.

The message I most wanted to portray with 'Water', is to treat water, like any other precious thing on the planet.. with Respect.

To really appreciate its life-giving qualities.

A Background on Water

I recorded ‘Water’ in a little community that we were traveling through at the time.. in 2002. I remember being in Maleny a few weeks before that and stating that I had this need to record some of my music.

I was searching around for a topic to create music about because I didn’t actually have many songs written at the time. I found a book called 'Water Wars' and it struck me that this was important to write about.

So I chose the theme of water.

After leaving Maleny with my family, we came upon a small community in Kin Kin with a fellow called Immantz (ex-drummer for the Australian band, Skyhooks) who had a home recording studio.

In the next couple of days, I wrote lyrics like poetry for melodies floating around in my head, with a one-and-a-half-year-old child by my side.

Then I started recording.

It was a whirlwind experience. Spontaneous and wild and free!

I knew I really wanted to create an album and this is what came forth.

I hope you enjoy it.
